What to expect

Initial session

We accept Mental Health Care Plans, Private Clients, NDIS, Victim Services and OOHC providers.

In the initial session, your Clinician will work with you to obtain your goals for treatment. There will be questions about your past and current situations and you may be asked to complete a screener to measure current symptoms such as for depression and anxiety. It is important to remember that these sessions are your sessions and you will not be pressured to talk about anything you are not ready to talk about. Confidentiality rights and limitations will be discussed at the first session.

Notes are taken in each session to fulfill legal requirements, you can view these notes in session. Notes also serve to help your Clinician keep track of progress, concerns and treatment plans.

Ongoing Sessions

After the initial session, ongoing sessions will be scheduled. Treatment plans will be created together based on your goals. Goals may change and sessions are flexible and adaptable to meet your needs. You may want to try a particular style of therapy out and you can discuss this with your Clinician who will ensure it will fit your needs.

Best results are found when clients are able to book in weekly sessions for the first 3 sessions, however, this is not always possible due to budgets, availability of client or Clinician and therefore we can work with your circumstances to get the most out of sessions. We will book at least 3 sessions in after the first appointment at intervals of your choosing to ensure you have the days that work best for you. You can always call and change these if required. Please ensure you give reasonable notice in line with cancellation policies.
